We have become aware of a statement from the minister being read on media outlets this morning. While we have not received a copy of this statement, representatives from the Ministry of Education have reached out to us to facilitate a meeting this afternoon with representatives from the Council of Trustees’ Associations, the Crown and ourselves.
We welcome any opportunity for fulsome discussion that will move these negotiations forward. We will continue our practice of transparency and will update you following our meeting.

October 30, 2022
CUPE’s Ontario School Board Council of Unions has provided the government and the Council of Trustees’ Association the “5 day notice” of job action this morning in accordance with the School Boards Collective Bargaining Act.
This notice means that CUPE education workers across the province will be on a full withdrawal of services on Friday November 4, 2022 should a deal not be reached.
We view the next 3 days of mediation – November 1, 2, and 3 – to be an opportunity for this government to come to the table to negotiate an agreement that recognizes Education Workers and the vital services that we provide for students, families and our communities.
