Our Affiliations
CUPE Local 1317 is proud to be affiliated with organizations that strengthen our collective voice at the local, provincial, and sectoral levels. Through these affiliations, we work alongside thousands of CUPE members to advocate for fair wages, safe workplaces, quality public services, and workers’ rights. These partnerships provide our Local with valuable resources, education, support, and a stronger voice in bargaining and political action.
Ontario School Board Council of Unions (OSBCU) (Website)
The Ontario School Board Council of Unions (OSBCU) represents more than 60,000 CUPE education workers across Ontario. As the provincial bargaining council for school board employees, OSBCU coordinates central bargaining, advocates for education workers, provides research and resources, and works to improve working conditions and public education for students and communities.
CUPE Ontario (Website)
CUPE Ontario is the provincial division of the Canadian Union of Public Employees, representing more than 290,000 workers across a wide range of public services. It provides leadership, education, campaigns, legal and bargaining support, and political advocacy while bringing together CUPE Locals from across Ontario to advance the interests of workers and strengthen the labour movement.

The Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) National is Canada’s largest union, representing more than 750,000 workers who deliver essential public services across the country. CUPE National provides leadership, collective bargaining support, legal assistance, education, research, organizing, and advocacy to Locals from coast to coast. Through our affiliation with CUPE National, CUPE Local 1317 benefits from a strong national network dedicated to protecting workers’ rights, strengthening public services, and advancing fairness, equity, and social justice for all Canadians.
Niagara District CUPE Council (Website)
The Niagara District CUPE Council brings together CUPE Locals from across the Niagara Region to promote solidarity, cooperation, and collective action. The Council provides opportunities for networking, education, leadership development, and coordinated advocacy on issues affecting workers and the communities they serve. Through this affiliation, CUPE Local 1317 works alongside other Niagara Locals to build a stronger and more united labour movement.
